In today’s comparison, I will introduce two of the most versatile robot vacuums with all-in-one base stations from different Chinese brands: the Roborock Q Revo vs Xiaomi X10+. They aren’t cheap, but what they bring to the table is impressive.

They are generally neck and neck in every aspect, except that the Xiaomi X10+ has better overall cleaning performance than the Roborock Q Revo. Both are hybrid robovacs with loads of features to give you a hands-free experience, such as “Recharge and Resume” and “Self-Emptying.” What’s more, sync them with the app, and you’ll find a bunch of smart features and functions.

Roborock Q Revo Vs Xiaomi X10+: Differences

The Xiaomi X10+ takes the lead over the Roborock Q Revo by a narrow margin of 5–4. Let’s delve into a detailed comparison of these two formidable 2-in-1 robots!

Cleaning Performance

Winner: Xiaomi X10+

Airflow

Roborock Q RevoXiaomi X10+
Quiet/Silent≈ 8.1 CFM≈ 8.8 CFM
Balanced/Standard≈ 9.4 CFM≈ 11.05 CFM
Turbo/Strong≈ 11.6 CFM≈ 13.4 CFM
Max/Turbo≈ 13.1 CFM≈ 15.9 CFM

In my tests, the Xiaomi X10+ showcased a slightly higher airflow compared to the Q Revo, though the disparity between them wasn’t substantial. The airflow results are great for robot vacuum cleaners, resulting in stellar results on my hard floor (more below).

Hard Floor

Roborock Q RevoXiaomi X10+
≈ 99%≈ 99%

On my hardwood flooring, both robots showcased stellar performance, successfully capturing about 99% of the overall debris. Such a score is among the pinnacles of what I’ve seen in robot vacuums throughout my testing.

Carpet

Roborock Q RevoXiaomi X10+
Low-pile Carpet≈ 94%≈ 95%
High-pile Carpet≈ 90%≈ 92%

Another potential deciding factor is the carpet cleaning results, where the Xiaomi X10+ was technically better than the Q Revo based on the scores. But, as you can see, the difference between them is too small to declare it the outright winner.

Hair

Roborock Q RevoXiaomi X10+
5-inch Strands≈ 62%≈ 79%
10-inch Strands≈ 55%≈ 69%

In my hair pick-up test, there was a discernible difference between the Q Revo and the Xiaomi X10+. The Xiaomi X10+ showcased superior hair collection ability, but the challenge arose when trying to clear its combo roller. The Q Revo’s all-rubber roller was much easier to manage, while the Xiaomi X10+ necessitated the use of scissors to remove tightly wrapped hair strands.

Design & Usability

Dimensions & Weight

Roborock Q RevoXiaomi X10+
Dimensions (W x H)13.9 x 3.8 inches13.77 x 3.81 inches
Weight10 lbs8.4 lbs

Both the Q Revo and Xiaomi X10+ feature a rounded shape, which is typical of robot vacuum cleaners, and an all-white casing. There is a dome on top for the LDS laser sensor, making them slightly taller than most robots that use built-in cameras for navigation – but this doesn’t hinder their ability to glide under the vast majority of furniture with ease.

These white dudes all come with self-cleaning bases that demand a significant footprint in your living area. You should think carefully about where you will place the cleaning tower since it’s not a good idea to move this bulky unit after the Q Revo or Xiaomi X10+ maps your home. Also, I highly recommend allocating some free space on either side to ensure the robot can effortlessly dock back to its base.

Extractor & Side Brush

The Roborock Q Revo boasts a single bristle-free brush, which has an advantage over an older combo brush roll on the Xiaomi X10+ when it comes to avoiding hair entanglements. Additionally, hair doesn’t tightly coil around the Q Revo’s roller, simplifying the untangling process.

Both come equipped with a tri-arm side brush designed to meticulously clean edges and corners in your living space. These are older bristled ones, which seems to be a cost-saving decision. There’s an option to upgrade to a more durable all-rubber side brush if you opt for the Q Revo.

Navigation

Both use laser-based LiDAR technology for mapping and subsequent navigation, meaning these tiny self-driving units bypass built-in cameras and use laser beams to reliably and precisely 360-degree scan and map your living space, even in low-light conditions. Then, you can view the map in both 2D and 3D forms in the respective app.

After familiarizing themselves with the layout of your home, these robots move in precise straight lines rather than a random zig-zag pattern. This ensures efficient coverage of every corner and minimizes unnecessary revisits. Both of these robots boast the ability to save up to four maps, which is ideal for multi-level apartments. So when introduced to a new area or floor, they immediately craft a new map, ensuring that existing ones remain untouched.

Regarding obstacle avoidance, the Q Revo has an infrared sensor called Reactive Tech, whereas the Xiaomi X10+ relies on an advanced AI digital camera for object detection and evasion. During my experiments, their obstacle avoidance algorithm wasn’t as good as higher-end robots, such as the Roborock S7 MaxV. They managed to successfully navigate around larger obstacles, including pet droppings, but they struggled with stretched-out cables.

Battery Life

Roborock Q RevoXiaomi X10+
Battery Life≈ 98–201 mins≈ 68–142 mins
Charging Time≈ 210 mins≈ 198 mins

Both the Q Revo and Xiaomi X10+ come equipped with a high-capacity 5200 mAh battery, offering extended cleaning time and allowing them to cover larger areas or multiple rooms before needing to be recharged.

The inclusion of the “auto recharge and resume” feature eliminates the need for manual recharges in between cleaning cycles. Once their battery reaches a low level, they will autonomously head back to their charging docks. But the real magic is that after charging, they don’t start from scratch. They can remember where they paused and resume their cleaning mission, ensuring that every nook and cranny of your home gets the attention it deserves.

Control

Manual Control

There are two physical buttons on the control panel of these bots: one to turn them on and start a full cleaning cycle, and another to dock them to recharge or empty their dustbin  – and that’s all you can do without your phone. To unlock their full potential and customize their operations, it’s essential to pair them with your mobile device using the respective app.

App Connectivity

The Roborock Q Revo and Xiaomi X10+ work with Roborock and Xiaomi apps, respectively, which are easy to use, super user-friendly, and, of course, feature-rich. They are free to download and provide all the tools you need to program your robot to your heart’s content.

Via the app, you can access all the stored maps and assign names to each room so that you can have your robot programmed to clean specific rooms in your preferred order without going through all the rooms in your house. You can also draw keep-out zones and set up virtual barriers on the map to prevent the robot-vac from going near your TV stand or areas with a lot of wires, for example.

The Q Revo/Xiaomi X10+ are compatible with both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Further adding to the automation, you can also set cleaning schedules, enabling the robot to work autonomously based on your preferred routine until any new adjustments are made. The apps also serve as a hub where you can track cleaning history, adjust suction and mopping intensity, and stay informed about the maintenance status of the filter, main brush, side brush, and when it’s time to change disposable bags.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Winner: Tie

When I examined the Q Revo, I noticed it came with a 350-ml dust container, which is a bit smaller than the 400-ml bin you’ll find in the Xiaomi X10+. But, trust me, you might not feel that difference too much. Why? Both the Revo and Xiaomi X10+ are equipped with an impressive all-in-one tower.

self-cleaning base
Self-cleaning base

I mean that while you’re enjoying your free time, these robots can handle all the tasks on their own, from self-emptying their bins and refilling their water tanks to washing their mop pads and even drying them with warm air. If you’ve ever hoped for a robot vacuum that gives you a break from the usual maintenance, you’ll find your dream come true in these models.

Look inside each station, and you will find two large water tanks: one for clean water and one for dirty water. Additionally, there is a giant disposable dust bag, which is designed to house weeks, or in some cases, even months’ worth of dirt and debris before needing to be replaced. The convenience of not having to constantly monitor and clean out the dustbin is a significant advantage, especially for busy homeowners.

The dirty water tank should be cleaned more thoroughly to prevent foul odours from the build-up of grime on its sides. This task isn’t a kind of pain: a slightly stronger water stream is all you need to keep it spotless. Their filters are also washable and should be washed in running water monthly.

Other Features

Noise

Roborock Q RevoXiaomi X10+
Working≈ 45-67 dB≈ 56-64 dB
Self-Emptying≈ 75 dB≈ 73 dB

Their noise levels depend on the mode, but, except for the maximum setting, they are generally quiet enough to ensure a peaceful cleaning experience without disturbing your daily activities or causing discomfort. Take note, though: the brief auto-emptying phase can rival a jet engine in decibels.

Mopping Ability

The Q Revo and Xiaomi X10+ can act as mopping robots. The Q Revo and Xiaomi X10+ can act as mopping robots. Right off the bat, they both come with a pair of revolving circular pads, so I felt that they not only mopped but also buffed my floor a bit at once. They are certainly more effective than the drag-a-pad robots but are still ideal for light, frequent cleanups. For weekly deep cleaning, you still need for a mop, heated water, and detergent.

both use two counter-rotating mopping discs
Both use two counter-rotating mopping discs

In my real-world tests, they easily removed juice stains. But when it came to dried BBQ ketchup, a few passes were necessary to get most of it off, leaving the floor with a sticky residue.

What’s more, they are also equipped with liftable mopping units, meaning when they detect carpets or rugs, they will raise their mopping pads to keep away from secondary contamination. That is great, but you will still need to set no-mop zones via the app to prevent wetting high-pile carpets.
